Hello

I've enjoyed facilitating student learning at Erie Community College OTA Department for over 15 years. I teach courses related to psychiatric rehabilitation, therapeutic communication, OT practice, professional issues, lifespan development, computer assistive technology, and I also coordinate clinical fieldwork placements and service learning opportunities.
Prior to teaching, I was program manager at Restoration Society, Inc. a community mental health rehabilitation agency in Buffalo. Having been trained through Boston University - Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation, I am a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) in addition to being a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Over the years I have provided extensive training in psychosocial rehabilitation to direct service staff, administrators, and consumers through workshops, classes, and consultation.
I completed graduate studies at SUNY Buffalo Center for Assistive Technology (CAT) in assistive and rehabilitation technology, and at Buffalo State College in education with emphasis on supporting students with disabilities. I participate on a number of committees related to policy, technology, and support services for students with disabilities. I am actively involved with the Consortium of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Educators of the US Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA), and serve on the board of Restoration Society, Inc., New York State Occupational Therapy Association, as well as function on various advisory committees throughout the community.
